      The stronger suppression of spin density wave order in BaFe 2 As 2 by a uniaxial pressure component rather than by hydrostatic pressure alone might be a consequence of the effects of uniaxial stress on the Fermi by: 4 to obtain an expression for the sensitivity to stress of Fermi surface sections situated at the point K in the Brillouin zone of the hcp structure. Derivatives of the five principal extremal cross sections of the Fermi surface of gold with respect to uniaxial stress along various directions have been determined from simultaneous measurements of the amplitudes of magnetostriction and torque quantum oscillations.
